I was originally trained in ceramics, first in high school and then at The Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, where I developed a strong foundation in traditional studio practices. It wasn’t until graduate school at Moore College of Art and Design that I began to expand my practice—exploring new mediums like fiber, performance, and mixed media. This shift allowed me to connect more deeply with personal and cultural narratives, using a broader range of materials to explore themes rooted in Black identity, hair, and ancestry.
